Dose %

Dose % refers to the rate at which a concentrated nutrient solution (stock) is injected into irrigation water, controlling the final nutrient strength. For example, a 1% dose means 1 part nutrient solution is mixed with 99 parts water.

Target EC

dS/m

The desired, pre-defined concentration of nutrients aimed to be delivered to the crop. It is usually measured in mS/cm or dS/m.
1 dS/m = 1 mS/cm
1 dS/m = 100 mS/m

Stock tank volume

L

Refers to the volume of water in the stock tank that fertilisers are added to. There are typically 2 tanks which are filled to similar volumes. Input the volume used for one of the tanks, not a sum of both.

Water analysis: Refers to the laboratory-based testing of source water e.g dam water to determine its chemical properties. Input the results in the boxes below.

Water analysis (mg/L)

Enter the EC level present in the water analysis here. This will be added to the calculated total.

Water EC

dS/m

Enter the nutrient levels present in the water analysis here. These values will be subtracted from the calculated totals.
